Crawford County has low crime rate when compared to other Ohio counties.
Crawford County is fortunate to have two hospitals that have added expansions totaling $35 million dollars. Both the Bucyrus Community Hospital and Galion Community Hospital have undertaken large expansion projects within the last 5 years.
Crawford County is fortunate to have six school districts. This shows our community values education in smaller settings. Each of the school districts is in some phase of the Ohio School Facilities Commission’s construction program. Crawford has several parochial schools located through out the community.
Each of Crawford’s municipalities offers a park system that provides amenities such as baseball fields, swimming pools and other facilities. The Crawford County Park District offers 6 parks that provide a scenic backdrop for walks in the woods. There also several quality public golf courses available.
A majority of one’s basic needs can be found in Crawford. Regional shopping centers Marion and Mansfield are a short drive. Opportunities such as professional sports, theatre, symphonies, fine shopping and dining, and the like are an easy drive. Three of Ohio’s largest metropolitan areas (Cleveland, Columbus, and Toledo) are within a 90 minute drive of Crawford.
